Map in the winner. Loser not taking new leads. You are not implementing CPQ. You are proving writers.
Library / Compare / GoHighLevel vs Salesforce: operating gravity vs enterprise gravity
Salesforce shows up when a board member says 'real CRM'. GHL shows up when an operator needs SMS, calendar, and a funnel this quarter. The leak is buying Salesforce to feel serious while the team still lives in inboxes, or stretching GHL into a fake enterprise with 40 pipelines and no governance. Choose by who operates daily, reporting/compliance gravity, and whether you will fund admins. This is not HubSpot-vs-GHL again — Salesforce is a different weight class of process.

Salesforce is right when you have (or will hire) admin capacity, account-based motion, compliance/reporting the board will audit, and the team will live there. It is wrong as a logo on a five-person coaching shop that needed missed-call SMS.
GHL is right when speed-to-lead, calendars, SMS, and snapshots are the product, and a senior operator will keep the model small. It is wrong when you need true account hierarchies, heavy CPQ, or political cover you will not get without Salesforce — then admit the constraint and fund the admin.
Shared leak: empty pipeline, mood stages, Excel still the truth, marketing list elsewhere. Platform weight does not install a spec.
How to choose: daily operator + admin budget + political veto. If you cannot staff Salesforce, do not buy it to please a slide. If you cannot refuse a board veto, do not pretend GHL will satisfy an audit you have not scoped.
Wiring implication: one record. If Salesforce wins, GHL is not the sneaky funnel CRM. If GHL wins, do not build a fake account object model you will not maintain. Keep jobs small.

Operator
Weight vs operate. One record. Small jobs. Admit vetoes. No sneaky second CRM for SMS.
CEO
Serious is a defended number, not a logo. If you buy Salesforce, buy the admin. If you buy GHL, buy the spec. Until one record exists, you bought a monument or a login.
Admin capacity, objects (lead/account/opportunity), GHL contact/opportunity, SMS/calendar need, reporting gravity, integration tax, snapshot vs Salesforce org, political constraint.
If Salesforce: it is the record; GHL unpublished or a thin channel layer with identity funded
If GHL: do not fake Salesforce objects; keep the sale map small
Either: stages as jobs, writers, one Monday number
Do not dual-run 'Salesforce for enterprise, GHL for marketing' without a funded identity program
What reporting must exist in 12 months. Who vetoes GHL. Write it.
Why: Unspoken vetoes waste 90 days of GHL, or vice versa.
Done when: A constraint sentence.
Salesforce without admin is a monument. GHL without an operator is a login. Name hours.
Why: Understaffed enterprise is the most expensive leak.
Done when: Hours or a no-go on Salesforce.
Same as any CRM compare. Dual-run is a program.
Why: Marketing-in-GHL sales-in-Salesforce is two truths by default.
Done when: Unpublished loser for new leads.
Jobs, lost reasons, writers. Salesforce custom objects later. GHL extra pipelines later.
Why: Both platforms tempt complexity as a substitute for a map.
Done when: A one-page map in the winner.
If you picked Salesforce but still need GHL SMS, that is a channel project with identity — or you picked wrong.
Why: Sneaky GHL for SMS recreates the second CRM.
Done when: Channel list. Each has a writer path to the record.
Operator-led, SMS/calendar/funnel cluster, snapshots, small map, no unused enterprise admin. Wiring: native writers, refuse fake Salesforce complexity.
Admin hours, account motion, audit/reporting gravity, political veto. Wiring: Salesforce is the record, GHL not a side CRM, channels explicit.
No jobs, no write-in, Excel truth, two lists. Weight class is not a spec. Monuments and logins fail identically on Monday.
Constraint + admin hours + daily operator. One record. Small map. Channels listed. Do not dual-run to please everyone. That pleases no board and no intern.
You outgrow a missing spec first. If you later need Salesforce gravity, migrate a system, not folklore. Buying Salesforce early to 'not outgrow' is a monument.
With apps and budget, yes. Then you are paying enterprise for a stack GHL includes. That can be right politically. It is not free.
Then that is a constraint. Fund it. Do not half-install GHL in protest and Salesforce in name.
This week
This week: constraint sentence, admin hours, pick record, one-page map in the winner, channel list. No dual-run default.
Both can be a filing cabinet. Neither is a system until write-in and stages are jobs.
