Library / Guides / Alumni are not webinar leads

Alumni are not webinar leadsPrograms sell. Then the CRM forgets they exist.

Participant versus prospect is a data-model problem. If alumni stay tagged as a launch lead, every campaign will treat them like strangers or spam them like a list you rented. Interns clean the states. CEOs fund an alumni path or accept that every launch starts from zero reputation.

00

In plain words

Intern through CEO

Prospect, participant, alumni, account (the company who paid) — different objects.

  1. 01

Prospect, participant, alumni, account (the company who paid) — different objects.

  2. 02

Alumni get a journey: outcomes, proof capture, next program, referral. Not the same blast as last week's webinar.

  3. 03

Workshops write back: who sat, who paid, who is due to renew.

What you actually do

Run steps 01 and 02 this week. Do not add a feature. Person vs company. Prospect vs participant vs alumni.

Operator

What you protect

Protect the sequence. Alumni get a journey: outcomes, proof capture, next program, referral. Not the same blast as last week's webinar.

CEO

What you refuse to fund

Do not fund more traffic or more seats until the scoreboard in this lesson is a number you will defend. Workshops write back: who sat, who paid, who is due to renew.

Steps

Do this in order

Why, then done when
  1. 01

    Split the objects

Person vs company. Prospect vs participant vs alumni.

Why: One list is how you spam both.

Done when: A VA can put a new row in the right place.

  2. 02

    Write workshop outcomes back

Attendance, completion, score if you have it.

Why: Otherwise the CRM is a registration tool.

Done when: Last session is visible on the contact.

  3. 03

    Give alumni a path

A short sequence. A next offer that is not awkward.

Why: Silence after graduation is how reputation dies.

Done when: Alumni are not in acquire campaigns.

  4. 04

    Put renewal on the account

    A date. A 60-day spine.

Why: If HR paid, the person who sat is not the buyer.

Done when: Renewal is not a seasonal panic.

  5. 05

    Stop the launch smash

Suppressions so a launch does not mail alumni like cold traffic.

Why: That is how you train them to unsubscribe.

Done when: A launch does not smash the spine.

Simple test

Pick ten people who completed a program last year. If they are still tagged as a webinar lead, the CRM is lying.

Why

Questions people actually ask

Pushback is normal

Can't we just segment later?

Later means the next launch already mailed them wrong. States are cheaper on day one.
